Holiday Rotation Description:

Provide emergency, supportive services, crisis intervention and direct support services to survivors of domestic violence shelter residents. Respond to crisis calls for sexual assault and domestic violence survivors.

EOE Essential Functions/Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

Respond to crisis line for survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence in an empathic, accepting, culturally competent, non-judgmental, healing respectful manner providing information and a supportive atmosphere providing a safe space for all callers. Ensure the safety and strict confidentiality of all clients. Document all services according to agency procedures in accordance with state/federal grants in a timely and accurate manner (intakes, direct service logs, referrals, crisis calls) Attendance to conferences, workshops, trainings, case management and staff meetings required Answer office phones and respond to front desk inquires in a professional friendly manner ensuring confidentiality and safety. Work directly with shelter residents providing advocacy, being responsive to their individual self-identified needs including but not limited to law enforcement, courts, landlords, and other participant driven needs Provide safety planning for survivors/victims. Coordinate survivor transportation if needed. Act as a resource providing appropriate referrals for survivors as needed Maintain current knowledge of available community resources and laws regarding domestic violence and sexual assault. Assist in the smooth operations of shelter by maintaining health, safety and decorum of shelter with safety and confidentially as primary concerns.

Other Responsibilities:

Maintain strict confidentiality of client information Adhere to, promote, and enforce all philosophies, policies and procedures of COVE Keep current on available resources such as housing, employment, community partners and referrals. Assume other duties as assigned or needed, assisting co-workers and fil-in for other positions as necessary as allowable under funding sources. Allow flexibility with work schedule to meet job function and survivor needs Responsible for other duties as necessary or as assigned by Executive Director or supervisor

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

Empathy and compassion for survivors of Domestic Violence and/or SexualAssault, ability to work with those from diverse backgrounds and populations; ability to provide services according to agency philosophy of empowerment; self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision; good problem solving skills; good listening skills; non-judgmental attitude, great customer service skills and team player. Able to lift at least 25 pounds; Must be able to pass background checks. Bi-Lingual a plus

Preferred Education/Experience:

History of providing Di rect services experience preferred; lived experience valued; High School Graduate or GED Required.
