Join our team as an On-Call Advocate, where you'll provide immediate crisis intervention and advocacy for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Fargo-Moorhead (RACC) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as an On-Call-Advocate . This position
REQUIRES
you to reside within 30 miles of the Fargo-Moorhead area, and includes various nights and weekends On-Call Advocate shifts.
POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE
On-Call Advocate
DEPARTMENT

REPORTS TO
On-Call Supervisor PURPOSE The purpose of the On-Call Advocate position is to provide crisis intervention for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence to increase stability factors in their lives and access immediately needed services and resource, consistent with the mission of the organization.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. CRISIS INTERVENTION
Provides immediate intervention, support and advocacy services to clients in crisis. 2.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Fosters collaborative relationships that strengthen the organization's ability to serve victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of the advocate training program High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent people skills Nonjudgmental about individuals Healthy boundaries concerning personal feelings and feelings of victims Excellent listening skills Ability to demonstrate compassion Demonstrated ability to be supportive Dependable Attend monthly staff and supervision meetings Advocacy experience preferred Able to respond in person to emergency room calls within 30 minutes Must be available some weekends and holidays (holiday rotation) Complete on-going trainings Available after standard business hours: Nights, weekends, and holidays Weekday on-call shifts: 5 p.m. - 8 a.m.
Weekend on-call shifts:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. & 5 p.m. - 8 a.m.

NA
RESPONSIBILITIES CRISIS INTERVENTION
Answers the crisis hotline, assessing immediate client needs Prioritizes immediate needs, advocating for clients and assisting in contacts with agencies and systems, such as shelter, law enforcement, medical and social services Provides basic information about options for orders of protection Provides in-person support for victims who require or are seeking medical intervention Provides in-person support for victims who require or are seeking support during law enforcement interviews Provides emotional support and resources to volunteer advocates as needed Documents services according to intake policies and procedures, and provides all pertinent information/activities to the Center Collaborates with other agency staff to ensure quality services to clients according to policies and procedures Maintains client confidentiality according to policy
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Foster community relationships that strengthen the organization's ability to serve victims of sexual violence and domestic abuse. Fosters collaborative relationships with community partners, as appropriate
EVALUATION
The performance of the On-Call Advocate will be evaluated annually by the On Call Supervisor according to pre-determined objectives and policies.
