Job Description

Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is Hiring an Eligibility Worker Lead in Fort Totten, North Dakota This position is available to current Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone employees only. Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is seeking a dedicated and experienced Eligibility Worker II Lead. This vital role is responsible for training, and supporting eligibility staff, ensuring accuracy in casework, and maintaining compliance with complex state and federal program policies. This position works with multiple economic assistance programs and ensures services are administered efficiently and equitably to meet community needs. Eligibility Worker Lead duties include, but are not limited to: Train and mentor eligibility workers; provide guidance on complex cases and quality standards. Review and monitor casework to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Assist with eligibility determinations and ongoing benefit calculations across multiple programs, including but not limited to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Low Income Home Energy Program, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and Child Care Assistance. Participate in policy updates, team meetings, and inter-agency collaborations. Monitor performance metrics and caseload distributions; suggest improvements Serve in the absence of the supervisor when needed. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners. To succeed in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of economic assistance programs and the ability to interpret complex policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Strong Leadership and team support skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, and guide staff. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in eligibility determinations. Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following: Completion of a two-year associate degree in the Eligibility Worker program, plus one year of experience as an Eligibility Worker I. Completion of a one-year certificate in the Eligibility Worker program, plus two years as an Eligibility Worker I. Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree, plus two years as an Eligibility Worker I. High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, housing assistance, or work experience in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments, financial planning, or computer/data processing fields, and two years as an Eligibility Worker I. A combination of three years of education and experience as listed above, plus two years of Eligibility Worker I experience. Working for
