Ultimate Life Companion Ollie Webb Center Inc. - 4.0 Omaha, NE Job Details Part-time From $15 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description The Ultimate Life Companion is responsible for providing one-on-one and/or small group companion services for the Ultimate Life program of Ollie Webb Center, Inc.
Schedule:
We are currently looking for part-time ULCs.
Our most needed availability is:
Weekday afternoons/evenings (2:00pm - 8:00pm) Weekend days
Essential Job Functions:
Professional Relationships Always represent the agency in a professional manner with solid interpersonal skills and integrity. Work well independently, but also as a team in providing support, guidance, and/or coaching to other staff. Communicate monthly with your supervisor. Establish effective professional relationships with parents/guardians and others. Arrive to work on-time and in attendance on scheduled working days. Sensitivity to people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families. Habilitation Knowledge of sociological, behavioral, and cultural factors influencing behavior, attitudes and needs of people with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. Instruct, train, and support program participants to enhance their community living skills, community integration, and independence. Use creative skills. Empower program participants. Influence, motivate, and persuade others through teaching and modeling of appropriate social and life skills. Utilize various techniques when teaching skills and concepts to participants of varying abilities. Administration Meticulous in all notes, documentation and reporting of services. Gather and/or distribute forms to/from the program participant and/or his/her family/guardians. Report program activities and accomplishments to the appropriate department director. Access to a personal computer. Other Duties Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with Ollie Webb policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Preferred Talents Verbal and written communication skills - including the ability to communicate ideas and information concise and clearly as well as understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. Set priorities for simultaneously managing a variety of assignments and activities, while meeting deadlines. Detail-oriented as shown through organizational and record-keeping skills. Analytical skills. Maintain confidentiality of agency and participant information. Experience with Microsoft Office and able to type 25 words per minute. Qualifications The employee must be 19 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Valid driver's license and auto insurance. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally and carry equipment/materials.
