UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year. Posting Summary Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Specialist III in the Addiction Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Mental Health Specialist III position is to serve as a team member in providing and maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu. This position provides support and assists staff nurses as directed, as well as transports clients to and from treatment and other related activities. Actively participates in group activity and crisis intervention. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides transportation and direct care responsibilities for consumers/patients as assigned. Engages consumer/patient in appropriate treatment intervention based on service plan and supervisory directions. Interacts and communicates with consumer/patient in therapeutic manner. Assists with consumer admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.

Position Pension Eligibility:

PERS Minimum Education and Experience Associate's Degree and two (2) years of experience in the provision of appropriate services in the behavioral health field or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field; or a high school diploma and five (5) years experience in the provision of appropriate services within behavioral health. Certifications/Licenses Valid driver's license. Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
