Why does the job exist? This position will be responsible to receive, compose, edit and submit reports of allegations of abuse and neglect referrals from youth via text message/online for all counties on a statewide basis. Position will engage with youth on concerns, needs, and provide resources and/or submit an abuse and neglect referral. How does it get done? Receive reports of alleged child abuse and/or neglect from youth via text message/online. (40%); Utilize appropriate judgment in the screening process per CYFD policy and procedure and worker professional standards. (20%); Gather all relevant information by the caller for appropriate screening determination. (20%); Mentor new workers in the unit and promote staff development by providing support to co-workers in skill-building and program development. (20%). Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or family studies from an accredited college/university. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Possible exposure to irate clientele.
