Housing Program and Drop-In Center Worker

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community resilience while developing valuable skills in social work, property management, and crisis intervention. SUMMARY To provide services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse problems. Service provision will focus on working with clients to enhance their recovery. Assist individuals who have experienced a recent mental health crisis in our peer drop-in centers and in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support. To provide training in the use of personal and community resources. Assist in developing formal and informal community supports. Assist the person served in increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others. To offer encouragement in times of crisis. To advocate on behalf of persons with behavioral health problems to protect the client's rights and to assist in reducing associated stigma. To work in cooperation with other providers, family members or significant others involved in the client's recovery plan. To attend Agency staff meetings, Case Conferences and Individual and Group Supervision. To observe all rules of confidentiality relating to clinical information and treatment, both internally and when dealing with external agencies and/or individuals. Engage with and provide follow up services to individuals seen by mobile crisis team members. To be responsible for understanding client's rights policy and procedures. To participate in staff training and development. To maintain professional standards at all times. To observe the guidelines established within the Code of Ethics and Conduct. To perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience for this position is based on education level.

High School/GED:

Must have two years experience.

Bachelor Degree:

Must have one year experience.

Master Degree:

No experience required. Overnight shifts do not have an education of experience requirement connected to them. Demonstrated Competencies Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referrals sources, and other community providers is absolutely essential. Ability to relate to a diverse population Good written and verbal communication skills

LANGUAGE

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
