Full Job Description Primary Purpose :
Provide substance abuse counseling services to clients at the reintegration level in accordance with OASAS and Agency rules and regulations.
Licenses, Certificates, or Registrations :
A valid NYS driver license and clean driving record. CASAC-T, CASAC-P or other CASAC Credential required.
Education Requirements :
A minimum of an Associates Degree in Psychology, Social work or Chemical Dependency Counseling or a related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
Experience Requirements :
At minimum of one (1) year counseling experience in a substance abuse facility; preferably in a residential program serving chemically dependent adults or related education/experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Carries a caseload of up to 15 clients involving coordination, development, and implementation of treatment plans. Prepares and maintains case records for individual residents, stating goals, objectives, and time frame for completion. Develops Initial Service Plan within 72 hours of client admission. Provides support to residents including motivation, support and encouragement for client goals. Monitors clients for medical, mental health, safety and security issues. Works cooperatively with the Program Manager to meet the treatment needs of each client. Monitors client medication schedules, following program procedure and protocols. Orients residents upon admission to rules and regulations of Residence and/or Supportive Living Programs. Collects urine drugs screens and breathalyzer testing for clients. Participates in weekly Case Conferences, staff meetings, and resident meetings including Team meetings. Required to work a flexible work schedule to maintain required staffing. Other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
Job Type:
Full-time. Monday - Friday, 1pm-to 9pm.
