(2) Cleveland County - 2.8 Cleveland, OH Job Details Part-time $17.34 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Handling customer inquiries Math Full Job Description Requirements Job Description Comments From This Job Announcement Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to determine eligibility for Energy Assistance programs such as: Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP), Crisis Intervention Program (CIP), and other seasonal programs as funding is received. Employees must explain program requirements and advise or refer clients to other program services as appropriate, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed and supervised under an Income Maintenance Supervisor II. This position will be offered with flexible schedule weekdays between 8am to 5pm depending on candidate availability and staffing needs. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Functions " Interviews clients and completes applications for the Energy Assistance Programs. " Determines an applicant's eligibility for the Energy Assistance Programs. " Verifies information received by applicants. " Works with vendors to determine benefit amounts and resolves payment issues. " Refers clients to other program services as appropriate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to communicate with clients, applicants, and the public to obtain data, and to explain rules and procedures. Ability to understand the needs and problems of applicants. Ability to learn the program area of assignment. Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and 1 year of clerical, customer service and/or public contact experience. Experience should include any of the following: negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering, and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or graduated with an associates or bachelor's degree. Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices). Special Requirements None This position is a part of a Health and Human Services Department. By General Statue 166A-19.3, Departments of Health and Human Services are agencies that are a part of the State Emergency Response Team for occurrences or imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from any natural or man-made accidental, military, paramilitary, terrorism, weather-related, public health, explosion-related, riot-related cause, or technological failure or accident, including, but not limited to, a cyber incident, an explosion, a transportation accident, a radiological accident, or a chemical or other hazardous material incident. In the event that the State Emergency Response Team is activated, this position will be required to participate if deemed necessary.
