MANDATORY
staff meetings
  • currently Tuesday or Thursday @ 4pm or 5 pm
  • One Full-time 1. Monday-Friday / 4pm-12am)
  • Salaried position w/ medical, sick, and accrual of annual, and sick leave
  • Multiple Part-time 1. Fri, Sat, & Sun / 8am-4pm

  • Hourly position Direct Service Answer the 24-hour crisis lines at the shelter.
Provide information and referral, crisis intervention, supportive services, and shelter information as appropriate Assist clients living on-site with various things like safety planning, crisis intervention, empowerment to make decisions, groups, activities, and house meetings, etc. Provide information, safety planning, crisis intake, and crisis intervention for prospective residents Coordinate response to rape calls as needed Assist rape crisis center staff/volunteers as appropriate when working with victim of sexual assault Provide information for the next shift verbally or in writing Ability to do groups, house meetings with clients, and outreach in the community. Non-Direct Service Be on time for your shift Complete shift update with staff on duty Maintain safety of shelter Complete all appropriate forms for grants and Attorney General Website Complete all forms required to meet agency policies and procedures and standards and criteria set out by the Attorney General's Office Prepare shelter for various inspections and authorized visitors Assist in the maintenance of the shelter facilities to include daily cleaning of the shelter, household laundry, rooms and office. Maintain list of supplies needed and inventories Fill in for DVSV Advocates, Family Advocate and other DVSV Support Advocates Duties to be completed during assigned shift and other duties/tasks as required by Supervisor and/or Executive Director Essential requirements Strong written documentation skills are essential, including the ability to complete handwritten records in a clear, accurate, professional, and easily readable manner that can be readily understood by others. Ability to multi-task in high stress situations Ability to safely maneuver stairs unassisted Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to be alone on shift and work independently with the ability to make decisions on your own and/or work as a team.
