JOB SUMMARY

Domestic Violence Counselor/Advocate Program:

DVS Safe House-confidential The DV Counselor/Advocate provides person-centered, trauma-informed supportive services, including safety planning, case management, and empowerment counseling to residents and adult (community) victims and survivors of domestic violence.Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct Client Services:
Provide trauma-informed counseling/advocacy services and case management services to residents and community clients. Assist residents and clients to complete goal (service) plans within seven (7) days of intake. Assess needs of resident/client and facilitate appropriate referrals. Completes client intakes and exits. Facilitate DV support groups.Accountability and Compliance:
Ensure all client information and data is accurate and complete. Complete required client data entry and documentation in secure database. Attend/participate in case review meetings. Complete 10 hours of continuing DV education annually.Teamwork:
Provide support and coverage as part of the DVS Safe House team, including hotline and text line, front desk, and on-call, weekend and holiday coverage, on a rotating schedule. Communicate essential information in appropriate logs in accordance with DVS policy and procedures.Advocacy:
Provide outreach services to target and underserved populations in the community. Provide individual and systems advocacy on behalf of domestic violence victims with community partners. Performs other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field plus 2 years of social services experience preferred.
