Job Description

If you are energetic, reliable, engaging, and eager to work in the human services field with people of all cultures and backgrounds, Family Services is looking for you to join our team. Family Services has several full- time positions available for highly self-motivated individuals who can function independently as well as in a team environment. You will have the opportunity to use your communication, participant engagement, case management and organizational skills serving as a Housing Stability Coach. This position is integral to providing specialized support to program participants in need of safe and secure housing. The Housing Stability Coaches are responsible for maintaining our housing participants' participation in federal and county housing programs in compliance with program standards. We are looking for individuals who can engage and communicate with program participants from diverse backgrounds to help them maintain housing. The Housing Stability Coaches will assist those participating in Rapid Re-Housing by providing an intensive case manager who will equip individuals with the tools to remain in the unit once their funding is exhausted. The goal is to assist the program participant in stabilizing quickly to open a Rapid Re-Housing opportunity for new participants. The Coaches will work closely with landlords, utility companies and other community stakeholders in order for individuals to maintain housing as well as to make connections to support treatment adherence and other individualized needs. Within the limits of the participant's income, Rapid Re-Housing helps households access units that are desirable and sustainable—those that are in neighborhoods where they want to live, that have access to transportation, are close to employment, and that are safe. Strong case management skills are key to success in this position as is the ability to provide responsive and timely services. Strong computer skills are necessary to enter program participants into an established database. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and a passion for preventing homelessness.
Client Service Management:
65% community/in home coordination 25% office 10% offsite program education/training
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for at least 2 hours at a time Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 10 lbs. Random reaching and pulling/pushing
Knowledge and Skills:
Efficient time management and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively Ability to meet program and funding deadlines Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 1 year of experience, OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 2 years of experience in shelter, transitional or permanent supportive housing is preferred, but not required. Candidates with lived experience in Homelessness or a background in Real Estate is a plus.
Pay:
$43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
