Job Description

SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position that supports the Immigration Services department. The Immigration Specialist provides assistance to recently arrived Ukrainian humanitarian parolees by gaining them access to legal, medical, social, educational, and other core social services. The Immigration Specialist is involved with client intake for legal and social services, case management and development of individualized service plans towards client self-sufficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SOCIAL
SERVICES AND CASE MANAGEMENT
Support client intake and assessment. Conduct client referrals to social services agencies. Assist clients with completion of ORR funded immigration benefit forms related to social service benefits and ensure evidence is attached with each form submitted. Maintain case files that include data entry into Fast Visa system (cloud-based immigration case management platform). Handle client communication regarding status of individual case. Research community networks to help meet client needs. Participate in outreach functions. Support Deputy Director of Social Services and Deputy Director of Immigration Legal Services with other duties as assigned.
IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES
Assist clients with completion of USCIS forms related to immigrant benefits and ensuring all evidence is attached with each application submitted. Make referrals social services agencies as needed Develop and steward relationships with service agencies in housing, public benefits, education, medical, and other core services Maintain case files that include data entry into Fast Visa system.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
2-year college degree required; 4-year degree preferred Bilingual in Ukrainian/English, proficiency in both languages in oral and written skills 2 years-experience in non-profit environment preferred Interest in immigration law Detail-oriented for case notes and follow through with client needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Microsoft office skills and data entry skills Work well with minimal supervision Professionalism, problem solving Proven cross-cultural skills and sensitivities
Pay:
$25.00 per hour
