Through our integrated approach to counseling, our trained counselors can create a plan that is unique for each individual to help overcome challenges they may face in their daily lives.
SUMMARY:
The Clinician will be the team lead of a multidisciplinary Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) that includes Peer Support Specialists and Case Managers as well as a Licensed Clinician. The Clinician coordinates activities with the team to ensure response within one hour or less. Responds to crisis situations, conducts risk assessments, and completes safety planning with individuals in crisis (during specific shifts it may be required that the Master's Clinician respond to the crisis hotline). Provides on-site, brief counseling to individuals, couples, and families. Works closely with schools, law enforcement and families in the community. The Clinician is also responsible for guidance and supervision to the rest of their team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Ability to effectively implement the SAFE-T screening tool. Perform clinical assessments to determine diagnosis, level of care, treatment plan, and make recommendations to other agencies about these issues as needed. The ability to effectively de-escalate crisis situations in-person and via telehealth Telephone screening for need of services or prioritization. Works with individuals, families, groups, and agencies to provide outreach, emotional support, service linkage, and referrals Provides warm handoff to community resources, services, and supports Triages phone calls and provides community resource information as well as supportive informal counseling Face-to-face screening to determine the need for inpatient admission. Ability to use various telehealth platforms Provides consultation services to staff from other agencies also working with the client Provides debriefing and de-escalation to parents/guardians and/or loved ones post-assessment Acts as a team lead when in the office and while on calls Ability to accurately, and thoroughly document their SAFE-T assessment in the online EHR system and assign the note to the respective licensed clinician Documents all client interaction within 24 hours of client-contact in the online EHR system Ability to provide a brief case summary to the licensed clinician via telephone Ability to complete a safety plan with suicidal/distraught clients Ability to accurately proofread, edit, and ensure case managers and/or peer support specialist documentation notes adhere to company standards before signing them in a timely manner Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations relating to crisis intervention services. Ability to work with and counsel suicidal/distraught clients May have to work overnight shifts (additional pay at a flat rate) Completes all the required trainings for this position within 60 days of hire and renews these trainings annually. Participates in all staff meetings. Other duties as necessary, when they do not conflict with client services. Ability to drive and have reliable transportationQUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Requires proven professionalism and the ability to deal effectively with crisis, families, and a variety of internal and external resources. This position also requires the ability to provide guidance and supervision to shift team members. This position requires driving and the use of reliable transportation.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Master's of Social Work/Mental Health Counseling or related field from an accredited institution required. Valid Florida Driver's License Training and or Experience in Crisis Intervention Preferred Considerable knowledge of current techniques, principles and practices of crisis intervention and suicide prevention programs. Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with individuals and families dealing with a mental health related crisis. Understands, communicates (both verbally and in writing), and collaborates effectively and with precision, given the time constraints of each task. Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required.
