Since 2015, Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center is the largest provider of homeless services in Travis County! We offer pathways to housing for people experiencing homelessness through low-barrier access to wraparound services by providing innovative, trauma-informed, and person-centered programming that engages our communities and leads system-wide transformation. Through the Sunrise Hub day center, Sunrise Hotline call center, Sunrise Mobile outreach and shelter services, and Sunrise Housing program we serve more than 8,000 people experiencing homelessness each year.

Position Summary:
The Assessor will support the Sunrise Mobile outreach team with coordinated housing assessments and daily tasks. This role ensures that high-quality, integrated care and services are provided to clients in the field. This position will triage, assess, and navigate people experiencing homelessness who live in camps. The mobile outreach team strives to reach people who might otherwise not access services and provide referrals to existing programs at Sunrise and in the CoC.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social services, business or public health or related field preferred Experience working with individuals who are experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and medical challenges preferred Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills Able to work in a high tolerance harm reduction model with individuals who have multiple barriers Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies Strong interpersonal and team building skills Self-starter with the ability to stay ahead of the curve and thrive in fast-paced work environment Current, valid Texas Driver's with an acceptable driving record required Able to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid certification if required
Position Responsibilities:
Engage with clients seeking services at all locations including, but not limited to: encampments, partner locations, shelters, under bridges, near highways, public parks, woods, etc. Provide compassionate assistance and support to clients Embrace a holistic, person-centered approach to service delivery Conduct screening in Homeless Management Information System and identify client needs Provide humanitarian aid, public benefits enrollment support, permanent mailbox services, hygiene supplies, crisis intervention, partner referrals, and more to support clients in their wellness and housing goals Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, interns,volunteers Stay up to date about Austin's homeless services system and navigate the system to best serve clients Partner with agencies around the city and facilitate outreach with other teams Attend various community meetings in cooperation with outreach partners Complete Coordinated Housing Assessments once licensed
