Trauma-Informed Care means treating the person as a whole, taking into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors. Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
Position Summary:
Serves as a Co-Responding Crisis Worker for TCCs Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) to accompany law enforcement and provide community-based assessments and treatment in the form of crisis intervention experiencing a mental health crisis. To advocate for least restrictive environment and coordination of services for those presenting a mental health emergency service to individuals in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Social work, Sociology, Psychology or Counselling with two (2) years Human Services required. Masters Degree and two(2) years community mental health experience preferred.
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
Current drivers license and vehicle for use at work
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferredMust be self-motivated, organized and detail orientedKnowledge of Microsoft Office Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.

The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
