JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction of the Housing Project Manager perform a variety of social service functions to assure the residents' needs are met according to Housing objectives. Do related work as required. Assist in collection and posting of rents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Interview residents to assess needs. Develops social service programs to assist the residents live independently. Works directly with residents to assure housings' social services are met. Conducts meetings and training sessions to educate residents on their rights and responsibilities, volunteer programs and informal support networks. Ensures residents are receiving and are aware of the services available to them. Provides case management for each resident, and maintains documentation on residents' data.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Travels throughout the 3-County area of Cameron, Willacy and Hidalgo using own vehicle. Travel out of state as required. In the absence of the Van Driver, assist with the driving according to the Transportation Schedule. Assist in the Center's day to day activities, maintain accurate records of the daily meal/in -kind distribution and submits monthly logs on services, monthly Calendar of activities the tenant/center council with their fund raising activities and its record keeping documentation. Monitors daily collection, documentation of the donations and safeguards its record keeping. Monitors that all participants compliance with the Agency's code of Conduct. Assist the Manager on preparing purchase orders and documentation on compliance with the Purchasing policy, and monitor the day to day safety sanitation and security of the Center. Assist with the work order and work order logs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
High school diploma. One year college preferred. Texas Driver's License, Class C. State required vehicle insurance. Must possess reliable transportation.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Some experience in the delivery of social services to senior citizens and non elderly disabled. Knowledge of social services and community resources available in the community interpersonal skills required. Use tact and diplomacy, neat appearance required. Ability to plan and implement programs. Must have good supervisory and communication skills.
