Part-time Position Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling or related field and two (2) year's of experience in a social service setting. Positive attitude and openness to supporting people in crisis. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling or related field and at least three (3) year's experience in a social service setting, preferably residential. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Primary Functions:
  • Conduct client intake interviews to determine client needs, and eligibility for services.
  • Creating a safety/stabilization plan.
  • Case management of client cases, including crisis intervention, assessments, and assisting clients to set appropriate goals or re-assess goals as needed.
  • Makes emergency and non-emergency referrals to outside agencies and provides information regarding services in other agency programs.
  • Staffing all cases with key staff including defining issues, eligibility for services, and identifying appropriate referrals.
  • Communicates special concerns about clients to appropriate staff.
  • Follow-up with client to assess plan implementation and provide additional support and/or referrals as needed.
  • Communicate with clients and staff with a positive attitude and willingness to help.
  • Enter client data entry into Osnium to assure complete and accurate records.
  • Develop working relationships internally and with external agencies.
  • Develop awareness of community resources available for referral purposes.
  • Must be resourceful and have the ability to make decisions in a timely efficient manner using the training and guidance provided.
  • Assist in the training of new staff, volunteers, and student interns.
  • Implements and facilitates weekly support/life skills groups.
  • Provide other services in crisis and emergency situations as requested or required.
  • Increase awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Participates in case discussions and attends program staff meetings.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
