Full Job Description Company Information:
Since 1984, The Refuge Utah (formerly known as The Center for Women and Children in Crisis) has made it our mission to provide a safe, caring, therapeutic, and educationally based environment to assist in the recovery of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Our vision is to empower survivors of abuse with knowledge, skills, and resources to live free from abusive environments and to decrease the incidence of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community through education and training. We value being survivor focused, trauma informed, collaborative, and unified.
Position Purpose and Responsibilities:
The Case Manager position works at our domestic violence shelter providing a temporary home for domestic violence victims and their children.
Primary job duties include:
Provide case management for clients in the domestic violence shelter Meet individually with each client for an assessment within 2 days of the victim's entry into the shelter Establish a Client Action Plan with each client—addressing their needs Coordinate and partner with local agencies in meeting client's needs and advocating for prevention Transport clients as needed in shelter vehicles Crisis intervention as needed with clients and their children in shelter (listen, empathize, provide safety planning options, discuss resources and options) Maintain statistical information on clients, case management and services offered and provided. Provide accurate and timely reports for grants.
Answer hotline phone calls:
provide crisis intervention and resources options to callers. Make appropriate referrals to community and state agencies and services. Clear callers to come into the shelter when appropriate. Attend weekly staff meeting and collaborate with other staff members as needed for client needs, donation needs, or volunteer needs/issues Assist with after-hours emergency shelter coverage. Be on-call with cell phone on rotation. Respond to any and all calls or texts while on-call Support and utilize the range of all agency programs Stay up to date on times, locations, eligibility and purposes of all programs Attend work related conferences as needed Complete other tasks as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field Fluent in the Spanish Language Pass a background check and fingerprinting assessment Suicide Prevention Certified or willingness to work towards certification
