CAP's mission is to promote well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented SW Washington Rent Assistance Specialist. The individual works on CAP's SW Washington team to provide services that include: completing emergency rental assistance applications and goal plans, contacting landlords to set up payment of rent and fees, arranging medical motel vouchers, providing information and referral, advocacy, and eviction prevention support services to people living with
HIV/AIDS
(PLWHA) This is a Full-Time role working at our Vancouver location in SW Washinton. The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm Starting pay is $29.18 an hour which is equivalent to just over $48,547 a year. The SW WA Rent Assistance Specialist's pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $33.99. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained. Who You Are Bachelor's degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field or two years' experience relevant to the position Prior experience providing case management (or similar) services Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working knowledge of the internet Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Strong understanding of issues relevant to gay/bi/trans men, people living with HIV and AIDS, communities of color, and the LBGTQ+ community and how those issues affect or influence service delivery What You'll Do Establish rapport with clients using a supportive strengths-based model that promotes client self-determination and independence Complete emergency rental assistance applications with clients and negotiate payment with clients and landlords. Collect payment documentation from landlords when appropriate Complete housing assessments, home inspections, goal planning, release of information statements, and deposit return agreements with clients. Complete check requests for submission to program management. Collect income and housing documentation from clients, landlords/property managers, and utility service providers Process medical and transitional housing motel vouchers Work in collaboration with medical case managers, medical providers, or other providers involved in client care, to provide coordinated comprehensive care to PLWHA who are enrolled in services at CAP's SW Washington offices, with a focus on housing stability At Cascade AIDS Project, we believe in unlocking potential.
