ABOUT THIS POSITION
The City of Phoenix Human Services Department (HSD) enhances the health, wellness, and quality of life for Phoenix residents by providing a comprehensive array of services to help people meet emergency, short, and long-term needs; and to help every individual reach their highest level of self-sufficiency. HSD offers a wide variety of programs for children, adults, and families at numerous locations throughout the city. There are three family services centers that provide emergency assistance and case management services to individuals and families in need. The Human Services Department is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team as a Caseworker III. This position is responsible for the Landlord and Tenant Program. Primary responsibilities of this position include providing oversight for Landlord and Tenant Counselors as they provide education on the Landlord Tenant Residential Act and the Mobile Home Act. This role also includes providing community outreach and facilitating education workshops. Essential skills needed for this position include: Supervisory experience and experience working with community partners. Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications is necessary. This position works some evenings and weekends and requires a person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage stressful situations with competing deadlines in an accurate and efficient manner. This position will also require independent initiative and judgment.

SALARY Pay Range:
$66,185.60
  • $102,668.
80 annually.
Hiring Range:
$66,185.60
  • $76,627.
20 annually.
Pay Range Explanation:
Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification. Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
Internal Only:
Please understand that this is pay grade 059. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance. Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase. Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease. Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade. When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of case management or counseling experience in a recognized social service agency, Including some lead or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in social work, business, or related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Employees in this classification who are skilled in a second language may be called upon to utilize that skill in the routine performance of their duties All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position. This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus: Experience with gathering information, statistics, and report writing. Experience building, coordinating, and maintaining community and agency partnerships. Experience with marketing efforts. Experience with community outreach and marketing. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the Spanish language is desired. Experience in creating and presenting training and/or community outreach programs.
