ABOUT US
Ascend Behavioral Health and Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health are sister programs providing industry leading mental health and substance use treatment across California's Central Valley. Ascend serves adolescents through PHP and IOP programs, while Sierra Meadows provides adult outpatient and residential care — together covering the full spectrum of behavioral health treatment for the communities we serve across Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield, and beyond. We are mission-driven, clinical-first, and deeply committed to expanding access to care in our region. Our Business Development team is the bridge between our programs and the providers, schools, hospitals, and community organizations that trust us with their most vulnerable patients.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Event Planning & Execution Own the full planning and execution of weekly outreach events across Fresno, Visalia, and surrounding communities — community events, health fairs, continuing education events, provider mixers, and facility open houses Represent Ascend Behavioral Health and Sierra Meadows at outreach events — host the booth, engage attendees, make meaningful connections , and serve as a knowledgeable, welcoming face of our organizations in the community Handle every logistical detail from start to finish: venue booking, catering coordination, invitations, RSVP tracking, setup, breakdown, and post-event follow-up Maintain a clear, organized event calendar and communicate upcoming events to the BD team and leadership weekly Lunch & Learn Support Plan and coordinate all lunch and learn events that support the Business Development representatives in their provider accounts — scheduling, catering, and materials preparation so reps can focus entirely on building the relationship Ensure the right program information and materials are ready for every provider visit and event Community Outreach Build and maintain relationships with school counselors, school districts, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and community mental health centers across the Central Valley Conduct proactive outreach to organizations and contacts not yet in our network — you are expanding our community presence everywhere you go Represent our programs at health fairs, school wellness events, and local mental health awareness activities with energy and purpose BD Team Support Support field representatives with scheduling, provider contact research, and outreach coordination Track event attendance and community outreach activity — maintain organized records and report to the VP of BD & Admissions weekly Coordinate with our internal Marketing team on materials and branded items needed for events — Marketing leads all content and design; you communicate needs and timelines Support special projects, new program launches, and market expansion as directed by the
VP of BD & Admissions Requirements:
REQUIRED
2+ years in event coordination, community outreach, healthcare marketing, or a related field Strong organizational skills — you manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously without dropping details Excellent communication and people skills — comfortable representing an organization in clinical and community settings Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation Availability for some evenings and weekends on a planned, advance-notice basis Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or equivalent tools
PREFERRED
Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare settings Existing relationships with Fresno-area providers, schools, or community organizations Bilingual in English and Spanish — strongly preferred given the communities we serve Background in social work, public health, or healthcare administration Experience with CRM tools or referral tracking systems Experience with Canva or social media coordination
