Job Description

We are looking for a Rental Assistance Program Manager to lead community engagement efforts that connect individuals and households with available support services in San Francisco, California. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who combines strong program coordination skills with a relationship-focused approach to outreach and client support. The role works closely with community partners, prospective clients, and internal teams to expand awareness, strengthen participation, and support program goals through consistent field-based engagement and organized follow-through.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and carry out outreach plans that increase awareness of rental assistance services and encourage community participation.
  • Establish productive relationships with neighborhood groups, service providers, business representatives, and public agencies to broaden referral networks.
  • Represent the program at local events, informational sessions, and community presentations to build visibility and trust.
  • Monitor outreach efforts, maintain accurate activity records, and prepare summary updates that highlight results and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and refine communication materials such as handouts, slide decks, and newsletters to support public-facing initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to questions from potential clients, volunteers, and partner organizations, providing clear and helpful information.
  • Conduct outreach to both prospective and current clients, including traveling within the local service area to meet individuals near their residences when needed.
