This individual will coordinate and implement a practice outreach programs that includes establishing and maintaining strong relationships with referring medical providers (especially optometrists), community organizations, and local businesses.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Several years of customer service oriented work. 2. Strong knowledge base of the practice and its doctors.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Self-starter with the ability to work independently. 2. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. 3. Proficiency in PC software. 4. Local travel required. 5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to write reports and business correspondence. 6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from referral sources, community leaders and business owners. 7. Present a highly professional image.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assume responsibility for the organization and management of the outreach department. Specifically, this includes the following: Responsible for all optometric and other referring provider relations. Track and monitor the OD referred patients through the practice and make sure they return to their OD for follow-up or co-management. Organize, manage and attend the OD CME meetings, including registering with the courses with the Board of Optometry. Set-up a protocol to visit a minimum of two existing referring providers per week, as well as one prospects per week. Provide ongoing practice information to the referring providers. Communicate on a regular basis with the owners using written status reports or spreadsheets. These reports will be designed by the outreach coordinator and approved by the CEO. Maintain a database with pertinent information regarding referral sources of the practice. Prepare a yearly calendar of events for the referring providers. 2. Coordination and implementation of the outreach programs. Schedule vision and eye pressure-screening services to interested community groups. Arrange participation for the practice in community health programs. Coordinate and promote doctor speaking engagements. Consult with the CEO on promotional and print material that is used for community organizations and referral sources.

Pay:

$27.00 - $32.00 per hour
