Job Description
Join our amazing team as a Community Outreach Coordinator! As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, this position will include a variety of administrative tasks and on-site promotional opportunities to support the department. This is not limited to but includes data entry, community outreach support, content distribution (digital, print and outdoor placements), photography assistance at events as needed and promotional inventory management.
Pay & Schedule:
$17.00 - $20.00 Per Hour (DOQ) This is a part time, non-exempt position 15-19 hours per week. Primarily weekday shifts with evenings and weekend events scheduled in advance.Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for on-site promotional setups, booths and marketing materials Oversee promotional giveaway supplies by researching, ordering and tracking inventory Internally and externally represent the Northbrook Park District at events and programs Collaborate with the seasonal promotional team at events and for community engagement tasks Provide administrative support for the survey process, including updating survey content, scheduling and distribution support Support sponsorship efforts by assisting with outreach, tracking deliverables, coordinating materials and supporting sponsor recognition before, during and after events Manage promotional assets and placement, including banners, outdoor signage and digital displays, ensuring materials are current and well‑maintained. Provide friendly, positive and energetic customer engagement Collaborate with the design team to set up seasonal display cases and community boards. Assist with capturing photos and videos at events and programs Responsible for local media listings and website event listings for Park District programs and events Assist with gathering content for the employee intranet Support database management by updating sponsorship records, organizing post-event attendee information, and maintaining the email contact list. Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Recreation or a related field. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours, scheduled in advance. Skills & Abilities Prefer experience with a project management system such as Monday Basic experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. Photography and videography experience Comfort with working at events and interacting with the public Strong project management and time management skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between Park District facilities and event locations. Knowledge Relevant customer service experience with the ability to engage professionally with the public Experience supporting events, fundraisers, or other public-facing activities through coursework, internships or prior work Physical Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
