Minimum Qualifications Required Education:
bachelor's degree with emphasis or comparable experience in a STEM field, marketing, management or related area. Program development and experience with underserved and underrepresented populations. Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire and advocate for STEM interests and activities. Knowledge of STEM education, workforce, and community partnerships within the identified region. Understanding and ability to effectively navigate the local and state political landscape. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and manage complex activities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficient with current software and web-based applications. Effective time management and organizational skills while working with minimal oversight, if necessary. Experience with fiscal management and projections, personnel management, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team on complex projects. Ability to be an active part of instructional and non-instructional activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls. Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Dexterity to handle laboratory tools and equipment safely and effectively. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on demonstrations. Occasional travel is required in an automobile for up to 5 hours at a time, with some overnight stays. Job Specification The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of the Northwest Louisiana STEM Innovation Center, working under the supervision of the Center's Director. This position plays an essential role in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of STEM-related programs, events, and outreach efforts across Region 7. The Assistant Manager will contribute to the success and sustainability of Center initiatives by assisting with project logistics, marketing and communications, community engagement, and data tracking. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping connect students, educators, and community partners to high-quality STEM learning opportunities. Job Duties and Other Information Provide general supervision and organization of community volunteers and completion of tasks necessary to implement assigned STEM outreach projects and related activities. Assist with planning of STEM outreach projects and related activities. Assist with purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment for assigned projects. Maintain budgets and expenditure records for STEM outreach projects and related activities. Assist with and supervise in the development and implementation of STEM outreach communications and campaigns through email, websites, and social media. Assist and supervise in the development and implementation of data collection and reporting of the community impact of STEM outreach projects and related activities. Responsible for maintaining updated records related to assigned STEM outreach projects and related activities. Contributes to a positive, solution focused, innovative and inspirational team and work environment. Serve as a liaison between business and industry professionals in arena of education to employment pipeline. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
