Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a vital bridge between the Chinese Culture Connection (CCC) and the Greater Malden Area community, with a special focus on helping Asian immigrants establish their new lives in the United States. This role connects individuals and families to essential resources—whether through CCC's own programs or by referring them to trusted social service agencies—covering areas such as housing, healthcare, education, language learning, and employment support. Acting as CCC's active community liaison, the Coordinator builds partnerships with local organizations, agencies, and leaders to foster collaboration, increase visibility for CCC's mission, and advocate for community needs, while also coordinating culturally responsive programs and events that promote cultural exchange, community engagement, and immigrant integration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local immigrant families, community partners, and service providers.
  • Representing CCC at work-related meetings, events, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Provide in-person and online community service.
  • Share weekly Malden news and community updates on CCC's WeChat platform.
  • Organize weekly resident meetups to welcome new immigrants to the Greater Malden area, share local updates, and provide a friendly space for social connection.
  • Assist immigrants in navigating local resources, including housing, healthcare, education, language learning, and employment opportunities.
  • Participate in leadership trainings, coalition meetings, and community organizing activities to strengthen civic engagement and outreach efforts
  • Lead and coordinate staff and volunteer teams in civic engagement projects, including phone banking, canvassing, voter outreach, and door-knocking initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to support CCC programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, community feedback and program participation for grant report, program evaluation, or grant application.
  • Conduct outreach and other related activities to strengthen community connections.
  • Contribute to CCC's major fundraising events and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, community development, public administration, communications, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with immigrant and multicultural communities
  • Familiarity with local and regional social service resources, community organizations, and referral processes.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin required; Cantonese proficiency is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multicultural team environment.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and outreach.
