Job Description

Syringe Exchange Coordinator Under the direction of the Coastal Recovery Community Center's (CRCC) Board, the SSP Coordinator is responsible to operate the exchange, offer testing and maintain outreach throughout the community. The position is grant funded and has multiple funding timelines. Year One (Upon hiring date-6/3026) staff hours will be 40 per week. Year Two (7/1/26-6/30/27) staff hours will be reduced to 20 hours per week. All duties remain the same within both years. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Syringe Exchange Coordinator to lead our community-based harm reduction efforts. We are looking for a knowledgeable person to help CRCC expand our exchange program while promoting CRCC's values, mission, and goals. In this vital role, you will oversee the operation of syringe exchange programs, ensuring safe, accessible, and stigma-free services for individuals who use drugs. Your leadership will foster positive relationships within the community, coordinate volunteer efforts, and develop innovative outreach strategies to promote public health and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by reducing the transmission of infectious diseases and supporting individuals on their path to personal wellness. Responsibilities Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse populations and increase program participation Coordinate the distribution of sterile syringes and collect used ones in accordance with legal and safety protocols Conduct public speaking engagements to educate communities about harm reduction and public health initiatives Collect and analyze data related to program activities to monitor effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts Collaborate with public health agencies, social service organizations, and community partners to expand program reach and impact Skills Understanding of the complex issues facing community members with living experience and those who are seeking recovery, recovery supports, and harm reduction Strong public speaking skills with the ability to educate diverse audiences effectively Program implement expertise with a focus on public health and harm reduction initiatives Project management capabilities to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously while meeting deadlines Data collection skills for tracking program metrics and reporting outcomes accurately Administrative experience including managing schedules and maintaining records Fosters a cooperative, respectful, and inclusive team environment aligned with the organization's values. Pay:
