Wage:
$20-23/hour Position Overview The North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center (NMPRC) Program Manager leads daily operations and community-focused programming to ensure pet families have access to the resources they need. This role is key in coordinating outreach, managing volunteers, supporting families in crisis, and collaborating with the Access to Care Navigators to connect pet owners with services. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, community advocacy, and making a tangible difference for people and pets. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination Oversee and implement pet resource programs, including food and supply distribution Maintain accurate tracking of client engagement, inventory, and impact metrics Coordinate & manage donation drop offs onsite Collaborate with Access to Care Navigators to ensure seamless service delivery and follow-up Create and schedule engaging content for multiple social media platforms Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions Community Outreach & Crisis Support Build relationships with community members and respond with compassion to those facing crisis Conduct targeted outreach to identify and address barriers to pet wellness and care Represent the organization at community events and with partner organizations Advocate for and share community resources for both pets and people Provide coverage for community outreach events as needed Inventory Management Monitor and maintain pet food, supplies, and equipment inventory to meet demand Coordinate deliveries, storage, and donation logistics with donors and suppliers Track inventory use and trends for internal evaluation and reporting Source donations and purchases as needed when inventory is low Volunteer Management Recruit, train, and support volunteers for NMPRC activities Schedule volunteers to ensure adequate support for programming and outreach Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven volunteer culture Coordinate bi-monthly volunteer orientation and onboarding processes in partnership with Volunteer Coordinator Reporting & Administration Track program outcomes and prepare reports for funders and stakeholders Provide data and impact stories to support grant writing and evaluation Assist in developing program goals, feedback systems, and improvements Actively participate in leadership team meetings & weekly all staff meetings Support development and fundraising efforts for the organization
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination, outreach, or a related role Background in animal welfare, social services, or community work strongly preferred
Skills & Attributes:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Empathetic, culturally competent, and solution-focusedComfortable working with individuals in crisis and navigating sensitive situations Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Slack Passion for keeping pets and people together
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Weekly Schedule Example:
This position is required to cover all shifts at NMPRC Tuesday, Thursday (4-8:30 pm) & Saturday (10-3 pm). The schedule below is an example for 40 hours per week.
