Job Description

The Morris Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for an energetic, community-minded leader who loves bringing people together, planning memorable events, and supporting local businesses. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on connection, enjoys turning ideas into action, and wants to make a visible impact in their community.

As Chamber Director, you'll be the driving force behind building a strong, engaged membership and creating meaningful opportunities for businesses and residents to connect, grow, and thrive.
What You'll Do:
Champion Our Members & Community Build strong relationships with local businesses and serve as their go-to resource and advocate Grow and engage Chamber membership through outreach, connection, and creative value-driven opportunities Be a visible, positive presence in the community and a champion for local business Plan & Execute Engaging Events Lead the planning and execution of signature events like Morris Crazy Days, our four retail events, and the Annual Growing Morris Program Develop new, creative programming that brings people together and supports member success Collaborate with local partners to create experiences that make Morris a vibrant place to live, work, and visit Grow the Chamber's Impact Identify opportunities to expand programs, partnerships, and membership benefits Promote Chamber events and initiatives through social media, marketing, and community outreach Help tell the story of our local businesses and the impact they have on our community Work with the Board & Community Partners Collaborate with the Board of Directors to shape priorities and bring ideas to life Coordinate with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to strengthen partnerships Support board meetings and help keep everyone aligned and informed Keep Things Running Smoothly Stay organized and keep projects, events, and communications on track Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and volunteers to deliver high-quality experiences Assist with grant opportunities and funding that support Chamber initiatives What We're Looking For Someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and building relationships Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events Creative thinker who brings fresh ideas and isn't afraid to try something new Self-starter who can take initiative and follow through Passion for supporting local businesses and strengthening the community Comfortable using tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms No specific degree required—relevant experience, energy, and a passion for community matter most. PTO, ESST
(Earned, Safe & Sick Time), and holiday benefits included Salary starts at $21 - $22.50/hr Must have a valid driver's license Work is primarily in-person within the Morris community
