Engagement Coordinator - Victoria

Under the general direction of the communications & public engagement director, the engagement coordinator is an entry-level, hands-on position within the city's communications team responsible for implementing established engagement strategies and executing well-planned community events. This role focuses on carrying out a clear vision and set of plans already in place, with an emphasis on reliability, follow-through, and attention to detail. The engagement coordinator supports the delivery of welcoming, high-quality community experiences through substantial preparation and on-site work, including material assembly, printing, setup, teardown, and direct interaction with the public. This position is highly visible and requires a friendly, approachable personality, the ability to take direction well, and a strong commitment to professionalism. The engagement coordinator is expected to be present at city-sponsored and community events, many of which occur during evenings and occasionally on weekends, and to assist with physical setup activities that support successful events.
