Working as part of the Development team, you'll plan activities, coordinate community outings, and collaborate across residential, day, and employment programs to ensure every individual has meaningful opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive. What You'll Do Program Development & Planning Design and implement engaging, person-centered recreational programs tailored to participant interests and abilities. Develop monthly and seasonal activity calendars for residential and day program settings. Ensure activities promote skill-building, independence, and social interaction. Adapt activities to meet varying physical, cognitive, and behavioral needs. Community Integration & Engagement Identify and coordinate community-based opportunities including events, outings, and partnerships. Foster relationships with community organizations, vendors, and recreational facilities. Support individuals in accessing and participating in inclusive community experiences. Promote visibility and inclusion of individuals served within the broader community. Participant Support & Experience Encourage participation and engagement in recreational activities. Support individuals in developing social skills and building meaningful relationships. Ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and respectful of individual preferences. Monitor participant satisfaction and adjust programming accordingly. Event Coordination & Logistics Plan and coordinate special events, outings, and group activities. Manage transportation logistics as needed for off-site activities. Ensure proper staffing ratios and safety protocols are followed. Maintain necessary supplies, equipment, and activity materials. Compliance, Safety & Documentation Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of activities, attendance, and outcomes. Monitor safety risks and implement appropriate safeguards. Report incidents or concerns according to established procedures. Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with residential, day program, and employment teams to align activities with individual goals. Communicate effectively with staff, individuals served, families, and leadership. Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning. Provide updates and reports on program effectiveness and participation. What You Bring Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum three years of paid experience planning small and large events. Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements. Ability to pass background and regulatory checks as required. Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based programs. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Tourism, Hospitality, Recreation Park and Tourism Management, or a related field. At least two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Experience in community-based programming or nonprofit settings. The Role at a
