Community Outreach Coordinator GIA Services Raleigh-Durham, NC Job Details Contract $40,000 - $55,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Bilingual Interpersonal skills Collaboration HIPAA Case management Full Job Description Community Outreach Coordinator - Behavioral Health AgencyPosition Title Community Outreach Coordinator Location North Carolina (Hybrid / Community-Based) Employment Type Full-Time or Part-Time Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, relationship-driven Community Outreach Coordinator to help expand awareness of our behavioral health services throughout North Carolina communities. This role focuses on building strong referral relationships, increasing community engagement, supporting client access to care, and serving as a trusted liaison between the agency and community partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about mental health, enjoys connecting with people, understands community resources, and is comfortable engaging with hospitals, providers, organizations, and local support systems. This is not a high-pressure sales role. We are looking for someone who values relationship-building, community impact, and helping individuals connect to behavioral health support services. Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Outreach & Relationship Building Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, referral sources, and local organizations Conduct outreach visits to hospitals, clinics, shelters, schools, DSS offices, recovery programs, and community agencies Attend networking events, health fairs, and community meetings Represent the agency professionally within the community Referral Development Build and maintain referral pipelines Follow up with referral sources consistently Assist potential clients with understanding available services and intake processes Collaborate with internal staff to ensure smooth referral coordination Community Engagement Educate community partners about behavioral health services and available resources Assist with community presentations and outreach initiatives Help identify underserved populations and outreach opportunities Documentation & Reporting Track outreach activities and referral outcomes Maintain accurate records of community contacts and partnerships Provide regular outreach updates to leadership Client Support Assist with engagement and retention efforts Help connect clients to community resources when appropriate Support positive client experiences during the intake process QualificationsPreferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, social services, peer support, case management, or community outreach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Knowledge of behavioral health systems and community resources in North Carolina Ability to work independently and manage community-based activities Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally Preferred but Not Required Certified Peer Support Specialist Experience working with Medicaid populations Existing relationships with community organizations or healthcare providers Bilingual abilities are a plus Skills & Attributes Compassionate and professional Organized and dependable Strong interpersonal skills Community-oriented mindset Comfortable networking and engaging with diverse populations Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
