Job Description

Victim Advocate Sandhills Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated individual to join our team as a Victim Advocate . This position provides direct services and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking throughout our six-county service area. The Victim Advocate plays a vital role in helping survivors access safety, resources, and support while promoting empowerment, dignity, and self-determination. In addition to direct victim services, SCIP values community engagement and public awareness. An ideal candidate will be comfortable building relationships within the community, assisting with outreach efforts, and supporting fundraising activities that help sustain services for survivors. No prior victim advocacy experience is required. Comprehensive training will be provided. We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to helping others. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, emotional support, safety planning, and referrals to survivors and their families. Assist survivors in navigating legal, medical, social service, and criminal justice systems. Accompany survivors to court hearings, medical appointments, law enforcement interviews, and other appointments as needed. Assist with protection orders, victim impact statements, and applications for available resources and benefits. Coordinate emergency services including shelter, transportation, financial assistance, and other basic needs. Maintain accurate and timely case documentation, statistics, and service records. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, social service agencies, and other community partners. Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Attend required trainings and maintain victim advocacy certifications and continuing education requirements. Participate in community outreach, awareness activities, prevention education efforts, and special events. Assist with fundraising activities, donor engagement, and community awareness campaigns that support SCIP's mission and programs. Represent SCIP professionally at community events, meetings, and collaborative partnerships. Help strengthen community relationships and increase awareness of services available to survivors. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with victims of crime, crisis intervention, human services, or related fields preferred but not required. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries . Proficiency with basic computer programs and office equipment. Ability to travel throughout the service area. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required. Must successfully pass child/vulnerable adult abuse and sex offender registry screenings. Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations and work with individuals experiencing trauma. Experience or interest in community outreach, public speaking, fundraising, marketing, or event planning is highly desirable. Ability to build positive relationships with community members, donors, volunteers, and partner agencies. Comfortable representing SCIP at public events and educational presentations. Schedule Full-time position 35 hours per week

Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
