Conway Area Humane Society (CAHS) is a registered non-profit organization. We are a community of volunteers, staff, and supporters dedicated to promoting animal welfare through rescue, adoption, and education.
Job Description:
The Community Engagement Coordinator at Conway Area Humane Society plays a vital role in advancing our mission by overseeing volunteers and engaging our community through events and program development. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management:
Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers to support various aspects of the organization's operations. Coordinate volunteer scheduling and assignments for activities such as events, fundraising, and outreach programs.
Program Development:
Collaborate with the team to identify community needs and develop programs that promote animal welfare, adoption success, and responsible pet ownership. Design and implement innovative programs, workshops, and educational initiatives to engage the community and enhance the well-being of animals and their owners. Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback mechanisms, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. Market programs creatively through social media, our website and other grassroot efforts.
Community Engagement:
Cultivate relationships with community partners, schools, civic groups, and other animal welfare organizations to promote collaboration and support for CAHS initiatives. Represent CAHS at community events, outreach programs, and fundraising activities to raise awareness and support for our mission. Develop and maintain outreach materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content, to educate the public about our programs and services.
Event and Administrative Support:
Collaborate with the team and volunteers to develop new enjoyable events and programs for the CAHS community. Schedule and oversee events in the community room. Work closely with the Director of Events to provide administrative assistance in all aspects of event planning on a needs-basis.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the budget for volunteer and program-related activities, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability. Identify potential funding sources, grants, and sponsorship opportunities to support program sustainability and growth.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in management, social work, education, animal science, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, program development, or event management. Non-profit experience is a plus. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers and staff. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the mission of CAHS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, volunteer management software, Canva and social media platforms. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and sit or stand for long periods of time.
Schedule:
Flexible up to 24 hours per week with some nights, weekends and occasional holidays required. How to
