Job Description

Come work with Us in Grafton County! The Grafton County 4-H Program Assistant provides year-round support for 4-H youth development programming, volunteer engagement, communications, and countywide events, including the North Haverhill Fair. This position blends administrative support, social media management, event coordination, and community outreach to strengthen the visibility, accessibility, and impact of 4-H in Grafton County. Work includes a mix of in-office, remote, and on-site responsibilities. Duties/Responsibilities Program & Administrative Support - 30% Assist with planning, organizing, and delivering 4-H programs, workshops, and county events. Support 4-H enrollment processes, recordkeeping, and data management in ZSuite and other systems. Provide timely communication and customer service to families, volunteers, and community partners. Assist with the development of youth-friendly materials, handouts, and branded resources. Enrollment Growth, Retention & Outreach - 20 % Help recognize youth and volunteers (awards, milestones, thank-you messages) Assist with activities that keep participants engaged year-to-year Support outreach to graduating members about next steps (volunteering, mentoring, or continued involvement) Help track participation and engagement over time Assist with efforts to connect alumni or returning participants Ensure accurate and complete event registration records Event & Fair Planning - 20 % Support year-round planning for the North Haverhill Fair, including logistics, scheduling, communication, and youth exhibit coordination. Assist with set-up, on-site operations, and breakdown during fair week. Help coordinate judges, volunteers, youth participants, and exhibit materials. Contribute to planning and execution of additional county events such as County Presents, STEM days, workshops, and outreach programs. Volunteer Coordination - 20% Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and communication. Maintain volunteer records, including alumni Coordinate volunteer schedules for county events, including the N. Haverhill Fair. Provide on-site support to volunteers during major events. Communications & Social Media - 10% Create, schedule, and monitor content for Grafton County 4-H social media platforms. Capture photos, stories, and event highlights to promote program visibility. Assist with communication between youth, families, and volunteers. Ensure all communications follow UNH Extension and 4-H branding guidelines.
Requirements Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Student position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva). Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events. Experience with youth programs, customer service, or event coordination preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Other Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with 4-H, Cooperative Extension, or youth development programs.
