Bilingual Outreach Specialist

DESCRIPTION

The Bilingual Outreach Specialist promotes MCOHA programs, especially our home energy programs, to low-income families, seniors and organizations, on-line and at events and locations throughout Morris County. This involves coordination of presentations, tabling opportunities, application assistance and distribution of materials with community organizations, apartment building residents and individuals. Take part in creation of marketing materials and social media posts. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, strong communication skills, and a commitment to our mission of helping low-income families. This role requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, as well as the ability to engage with diverse community members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent MCOHA at community events, fairs, and outreach activities to promote our programs and services.
• Take the lead in organizing and coordinating outreach events and activities.
• Develop and distribute outreach materials to raise awareness of MCOHA's programs.
• Utilize social media platforms to post information and engage with clients and the community.
• Create visually appealing graphics and content using Canva to support outreach efforts.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, organizations, and stakeholders.
• Collect feedback and insights from the community to inform program development and outreach strategies.
• Track and assess outreach effectiveness and make modifications to improve effectiveness.
• Assist clients with applications for home energy programs.
• Provide administrative support to the home energy programs as needed.
• Provide support to other MCOHA programs when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Outgoing and engaging personality with confidence to interact face-to-face with colleagues from other organizations and the public.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS office, social media platforms and Canva.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to MCOHA's mission of supporting low-income and Hispanic families.
• Previous outreach or sales experience is a plus.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
