Job Description
Family Based Services Association (FBSA) is part of New Jersey's Family Support Organizations (FSOs). FSOs are family-led, community-based, non-profit agencies whose mission is to provide support, advocacy, and education to families and caregivers of children with emotional, behavioral, mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse challenges. Job Summary This position will be filled by the parent or legal guardian of a child with complex emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs, who has some experience with the child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, or education systems. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Liaison Coordinator acts as a link between FBSA and the community. The focus is on building relationships with the community, providers, and families to promote services and provide resources.
Key Responsibilities Community Engagement & Networking:
Build and maintain strong trust-based relationships with community partners, stakeholders, schools, and health care providers.Warmline:
manage a telephonic warmline offering the appropriate support, information, and referrals to the community.Outreach Strategy Development:
Identify, plan, and implement outreach projects and campaigns aimed at increasing FBSA's visibility. Manage outreach budget.Event Coordination:
Organize workshops, informational sessions, and community events to raise awareness about family support programs.Communication & Marketing:
Create and distribute outreach materials, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, and social media content (including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram)Documentation & Reporting:
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach initiatives, maintain accurate records, data collection, and reporting, including Opeeka and other state reporting as detailed in the contract deliverables.Group facilitation:
Plan, prepare, and facilitate, including but not limited to the Youth Partnership and Support Group, as deliverables required in the state contract. Attend monthly community meetings, including but not limited to Children's Interagency Coordinating Council, Monmouth/Ocean Provider Council, Youth Partnership, Outreach Coordinators, and any other meetings as requested by the executive director. Qualifications Be a parent or legal guardian of a child with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs, who has some experience with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems. College degree preferred but not required. Ability to work flexible hours. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written skills. Computer literate. Must be 21 and able to work legally in New Jersey. Have a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Salaried position with occasional nights and weekends.Benefit package includes:
