The organization provides individuals and families with a step-by-step path to safer and healthier living through individualized service plans as well as the caring support victims need. The Domestic Violence Resource Center is the area's leading provider of services to those experiencing family violence.

Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly (Approximately 20-25 Hours per Week). Flexible scheduling available based on agency needs and event commitments. May require some weekend and evening work.
Compensation:
$18.00 - $23.00/hour
Position Summary:
The Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator recruits, trains, coordinates, and recognizes volunteers who support the Domestic Violence Resource Center's mission. This position supports the organization's volunteer programs, including crisis hotline volunteers, office volunteers, maintenance and facility volunteers, community service volunteers, event volunteers, and other volunteer roles as needed. This position also serves as a key ambassador for the organization by representing DVRC at community outreach and tabling events, cultivating volunteer and community partnerships, and coordinating monthly meetings for advocates from partner agencies throughout the region. The Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator plays an essential role in strengthening community awareness, volunteer engagement, and collaboration among professionals serving survivors of domestic violence.
Essential Functions:

Volunteer Recruitment and Management Recruit volunteers through community outreach, presentations, volunteer fairs, educational institutions, corporate partnerships, and other community engagement opportunities. Coordinate volunteer placement and assignments based on organizational needs and volunteer interests. Maintain ongoing communication with volunteers and provide support, coaching, and recognition. Organize volunteer appreciation and recognition activities throughout the year. Ensure volunteer records, background checks, training documentation, and schedules are maintained accurately, confidentially, and in compliance with agency policies. Update volunteer policies, procedures, and training materials as needed. Hotline Volunteer Program Coordinate scheduling of the Domestic Violence Resource Center's crisis hotline utilizing volunteers and staff. Coordinate the training of hotline volunteers. Ensure hotline volunteers meet training requirements and provide services consistent with agency standards. Serve as a backup hotline responder when volunteers or staff are unavailable. Monitor volunteer case notes and performance and provide ongoing support and coaching. Community Engagement and Outreach Participate in select outreach and recruitment events as agency priorities and scheduling permit; at times, coordinate volunteer and staff participation in events as well. Coordinate logistics and materials for outreach and awareness events. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to identify outreach needs and distribute DVRC marketing materials to community partner agencies. Assist Marketing & Communications Manager maintaining relationships with community partners, educational institutions, businesses, faith communities, and civic organizations to expand volunteer and outreach opportunities. Track outreach activities and assist with evaluating effectiveness of recruitment and engagement efforts. Assist in coordinating meetings (every two months) for advocates from partner agencies and community organizations and help facilitate communication and information sharing among the group. Other Duties Assist with special projects related to volunteer engagement, outreach, and community collaboration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse populations, community partners, staff, and volunteers. Ability to recruit, motivate, train, supervise, and retain volunteers. Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail. Ability to coordinate multiple schedules, events, and priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and self-direction. Knowledge of volunteer management best practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and volunteer or database management systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one-year professional experience working in volunteer coordination, community outreach, fundraising, marketing, or client advocacy required. AA, BA or BS in counseling, social work or human services related field preferred. Fluency in Spanish desired. Experience working with domestic violence survivors preferred. Valid Driver's License and Insurance required. Ability to pass a standard background check. All Domestic Violence Resource Center employees must sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy of the shelter location and identities of the clients served by the organization.
Physical Requirements :
Must have ability to be active and be mobile at least 50% of the time. Ability to lift, move and/or transport office supplies/materials weighing up to 30 pounds within office environment and at community events.
