Job Description

General Responsibilities:
The Peer Engagement Coordinator utilizes their own substance use and recovery expertise to serve as a resource for participants at the Recovery Center and ensure daily operation meets the needs of the community as defined by the peer participatory process. Position will develop, deliver, and facilitate peer delivery of recovery enhancement programming with participants and volunteers.
Functions and Duties:
  • Develop recovery programs and mutual aid groups at the Recovery Center, County Jails, and other community agencies.
  • Coordinate/facilitate community-based programming/education/activities on site and virtually.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of science-based programs and initiatives and acquire/maintain appropriate certifications.
  • Organize/schedule trainings, conferences and community initiatives in consultation with the Director of the Recovery Center.
  • Represent the agency at meetings, seminars, trainings, and community outreach events.
  • Interface with treatment providers, agencies and community members to enhance the services of the agency.
  • Respond to inquiries, make referrals.
  • Perform related and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist peers in goal planning
  • "Recovery Coach Wellness Plans" as manifested by CCAR.
  • Responsible for maintaining: Peer/Member Engagement Forms, Participant Agreements, Volunteer Records, and other documentation as assigned.
Reporting Outcomes are tallied at the end of each month on the Summary of Services form and given to the Director who then reports to OASAS.
Skills needed:
  • Be able to use Outlook and Word.
  • Able to work flexible schedule with some evening and weekends.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and programs.
  • Be open to all pathways to recovery.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Advocate Certification.
