New York City (5 Boroughs) Full-time, Hybrid AmeriCorps VISTA/Coach Across America Position AmeriCorps - National, federal service organization that focuses on providing opportunities for individuals to civically engage with projects or organizations they are passionate about through a service term. Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) - The specific AmeriCorps program the VISTA will be enrolled in during their service term. VISTA members serve full-time at a host organization to build the capacity of nonprofits to assist in bringing individuals and communities out of poverty. Role Overview We're seeking an entry-level Partnership and Development VISTA who embodies the mission of expanding physical activity, cycling and wellness opportunities through partnerships, business development and capacity strategies into underserved communities. This role is for someone who sees potential and builds bridges—someone who believes in the power of relationship building to scale impact and expand reach. Your work will focus on researching and identifying potential partners, corporate sponsors and capacity-building strategies that align with our vision, thereby leveraging resources to champion wellness in communities facing the greatest challenges.
Key Responsibilities Market Analysis:
Dive deep into comprehensive research to identify schools, organizations and corporate entities in NYC that resonate with our mission, mapping out potential partners and key players.
Partnership Engagement:
Build and manage relationships with prospective partners, creating a vibrant network of collaborators committed to enhancing wellness in underserved areas.
Impact and Program Evaluation:
Use innovative tools and methods to assess potential impacts, prioritizing opportunities where our collaboration could substantially uplift community health.
Strategic Development:
Play a pivotal role in using CRM systems and social media, such as LinkedIn for marketing and outreach, ensuring we're communicating effectively and efficiently with our partners and community.
Data-Driven Action:
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of our partnerships and program initiatives, focusing on real-world impacts on community health and wellness. You're flexible, willing to roll up your sleeves and ready for anything—from lifting barricades to close streets to bring communities together through physical activity in the morning, meeting with corporate sponsors in the afternoon and presenting at a community board meeting in the evening A data enthusiast, who can skillfully turn insights into action. An entrepreneurial strategic thinker, who sees the bigger picture and understands the importance of partnerships in scaling impact. An empathetic communicator, fluent in the language of inclusivity and empowerment. Someone with a knack for engaging diverse stakeholders and building consensus toward a common goal. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in community development, business development, public health, social sciences, marketing or a related field. Entry-level or transitioning careers Proficiency in data analysis, strategy, market research, and CRM tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience or a strong interest in health, physical activity and community wellness initiatives Experience and knowledge of Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides and Microsoft Office Why Join Us?
