Sown Strategies is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-minded Campaign Coordinator to lead localized public affairs, community organizing, and outreach efforts on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in grassroots organizing, political advocacy, or community relations, with a proven ability to build local coalitions, manage field operations, and navigate local regulatory environments to secure project success. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives on human connection and has a proven track record of resilience in the field. A strong candidate will bring successful prior experience in door-to-door sales, field canvas leadership, or political campaign operations. Key Responsibilities:
Grassroots Field Operations & Neighbor Engagement:
Plan, launch, and directly oversee targeted door-to-door "Neighbor Engagement" field operations. Manage the logistics, messaging, and deployment of canvassing efforts (including phone banking, texting, and direct mail where applicable) to educate residents and build hyper-local support. Community Meeting Planning & Execution:
Take full ownership of the end-to-end planning, promotion, logistics, and execution of local community meetings, town halls, and informational workshops. Serve as a main presenter or facilitator, ensuring accurate information is delivered and community feedback is constructively managed. Research, Analysis & Reporting:
Conduct deep research and analysis on local community sentiment, demographic shifts, and stakeholder dynamics. Create detailed analytical stakeholder reports to support leadership with data-driven strategy and tactics. Data Management & CRM:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date stakeholder databases and voter/resident outreach lists to ensure seamless tracking of community interactions and field metrics. Collateral & Content Creation:
Develop and design compelling marketing materials, educational documents, fact sheets, and neighborhood literature to clearly communicate project benefits and address local questions. Supporter Development & Advocacy:
Identify and develop a network of supportive community members. Coordinate with these individuals to secure positive localized testimonies, letters of support, and in-person public testimony at local hearings. Strategic Partnerships & Community Giving:
Identify local community-based organizations to facilitate community giving, charitable contributions, and mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. Local Government & Coalition Outreach:
Act as the primary relationship lead with county/municipal officials, local taxing bodies, chambers of commerce, and economic development organizations within target project areas. Public Representation:
Represent Sown Strategies and its clients at public forums, including Planning Commission meetings, Board of Supervisors hearings, and other regulatory or community-driven events. Stakeholder Alignment & Public Education:
Educate and align key community stakeholders and local officials behind the project, ensuring accurate information is readily available to naturally counter public misconceptions and build positive consensus. Community Consensus Building:
Proactively listen to community feedback, address concerns transparently, and build educational frameworks that foster broad public acceptance and support for the project. Regulatory & Ordinance Tracking:
Collaborate with development and planning teams to manage details regarding local ordinances, zoning changes, or policy shifts that may impact the project's pipeline or approval timeline. Consultant Management:
Engage, onboard, and manage third-party consultants, field advisors, and local agencies to support project strategy and community field organization. Pay:
