Job Description

Description We are looking for an Development Coordinator to support fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and outreach efforts for an organization based in Columbus, Ohio. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing relationship-focused work with strong administrative and event coordination responsibilities. The person in this role will help strengthen donor communications, maintain outreach and fundraising records, assist with marketing initiatives, and contribute to successful meetings, campaigns, and community-facing events.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain donor and prospect records by entering new contacts, updating information, and conducting background research to support outreach efforts.
  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgements, pledge-related correspondence, and other fundraising communications with accuracy and timeliness, including documentation for in-kind contributions.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics for internal teams and external stakeholders by arranging space, audiovisual needs, agendas, presentation materials, scheduling, and follow-up notes.
  • Support fundraising events, donor cultivation activities, tours, and campaign-related functions by managing registrations, confirmations, invoices, and participant communications.
  • Assist with committee and stakeholder engagement by facilitating communication, organizing documentation, and helping keep projects moving across departments and partner groups.
  • Contribute to outreach and public relations efforts by gathering stories, photos, and approvals, and by helping arrange interviews with residents, staff, and media contacts.
  • Help manage digital communications by updating social media channels, monitoring incoming website inquiries, and routing questions to the appropriate staff members for response.
  • Provide responsive service to donors, prospects, volunteers, and community contacts while supporting broader development and marketing initiatives as needed. Requirements
  • Experience working with donor databases, fundraising records, or contact management systems in a development, nonprofit, or outreach setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through email, letters, and other donor-facing correspondence.
  • Background in administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, meeting coordination, and note-taking.
  • Familiarity with event planning tasks such as registration tracking, attendee communication, and logistics management.
  • Ability to support community outreach, donor engagement, or public-facing relationship-building activities.
  • Working knowledge of social media content coordination, online inquiries, and marketing support activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable collaborating with internal teams, volunteers, committees, and external partners in a detail-oriented environment.
