Job Description

COMMUNITY RESOURCE
Staff Compass House - Medford, Oregon Compass House is an accredited Clubhouse International program serving adults living with mental health conditions in Southern Oregon. Through the 77-year-old evidence-based Clubhouse Model we provide a recovery-oriented, community-based environment where members and staff work side-by-side to build skills, relationships, employment opportunities, and meaningful social and community connections. This NON-clinical model of psychosocial rehabilitation improves the emotional, physical, and mental health of people who struggle with severe and persistent mental illness. Our task-oriented program builds purpose and social connectivity while providing transferable work, home, and life skills. Members receive assistance with transitional and supported employment, education, housing resources, financial literacy, social practice, and wellness. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Position Overview Our Community Resource staff facilitates new member orientation, maintains and updates member records, coordinates regular community outreach and presentations, engages members in side-by-side task work, gathers and updates local resource information, among others. This role requires a positive, proactive attitude with the desire, and ability, to motivate people. Our Community Resource staff must have a solution-based perspective and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. Having knowledge, or lived experience, of mental health conditions is beneficial, however, Compass House is non-clinical and we do not focus on our members' diagnoses. Instead, we help uncover their strengths and abilities, improve job skills and find work, and provide support and acceptance to assist them in their mental health recovery. We are looking for a dedicated professional who wants to build a long-term career , not just take another job. In turn, we offer a fun and supportive work environment with a cohesive team and excellent benefits. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Primary Responsibilities Community outreach and presentations to human services and civic organizations Regular reach-out to members and potential members Gather and update local resources Highly developed organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Assist in developing Transitional Employment positions Manage and update online and social media platforms _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Required Qualifications Need to have established local community resources and contacts Must be proficient with social media and online platforms Strong comfort level with community presentations and tabling events Background in behavioral or mental health with nonprofit agencies Valid driver's license with good driving record Background check is required prior to hire _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Compensation and Benefits Pay $18.50 to $19.50/hour Schedule 8:00 am to 4:00 pm - Monday through Friday Benefits Health, dental, and vision Insurance Generous and flexible PTO Location 37 N Ivy Street, Medford
