The SNAP Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role in connecting individuals and families to sustainable food resources by helping them access Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. What You'll Do Direct Client Support & SNAP Assistance Provide one-on-one SNAP application assistance, primarily over the phone, to individuals and families. Guide applicants through the process, including completing applications and submitting required documentation. Conduct follow-ups to support applicants through approval and troubleshoot any barriers. Listen, assess, and resolve issues related to SNAP enrollment with empathy and professionalism. Outreach & Relationship Building Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, including member agencies and local organizations. Collaborate with County Assistance Offices to track application status and support successful outcomes. Work toward outreach benchmarks by connecting with individuals and organizations across the region. Education & Community Engagement Deliver presentations and educational sessions to increase awareness and enrollment in SNAP. Create and distribute outreach materials such as flyers, posters, and resource guides. Partner with the Development team to support SNAP outreach campaigns and communication efforts. Collect and share stories that highlight the impact of SNAP for advocacy and education. Program Tracking & Improvement Maintain accurate records and data for reporting and evaluation. Prepare periodic reports on outreach efforts and program impact. Stay current on SNAP policies, procedures, and best practices within the Feeding America network. Identify opportunities to expand outreach and improve service delivery. What You'll Bring A passion for helping others and advancing food access and equity. A calm, patient, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. Confidence in public speaking and community engagement. Ability to work independently while staying connected to a collaborative team. Qualifications Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, community outreach, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Spanish-speaking skills are a plus. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
