Job Description

Hour House in Charleston, IL, is seeking to hire a Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Council Coordinator to serve in a leadership position responsible for the agency's Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Councils. There are eight Councils with an individual ROSC Coordinator assigned to each Council. The ROSC Council Coordinator we are currently hiring for is for Effingham County, where they will primarily work. This is a hybrid position, with one day required in the Mattoon CEAD Council office and the remainder working in the communities they serve, from home, unless additional time in the office is required for project-specific duties. Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities include assisting communities in conducting needs assessments and implementing activities to address community needs to support those in recovery from substance use disorder. This position is that of a grassroots organizer, assessing the substance abuse recovery issue through a community survey, bringing stakeholders together to find solutions, and cooperating to strengthen the community response. Qualifications and Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as candidates will represent the agency at the local, county, and state levels in advancing agency programming and ensuring contract compliance. Candidates must pass all background checks, have a reliable vehicle, and possess a valid driver's license. A Master's or Bachelor's degree in counseling, public policy, social work, health, psychology, or a closely related field with related experience in public relations, community action, and/or recovery supports is preferred. In addition, the right candidate will understand substance use disorder as an illness and be able to model this philosophy in their community outreach. If in recovery they will have two years of stable recovery from SUD. The work arrangement will be a hybrid one, combining work-from-home, community-based work, and office days. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Effingham County with two years of stable recovery from Substance Use Disorders.
