Part-Time Educational Sales & Outreach Associate Description:
Documentary Educational Resources (DER) is seeking a mission-driven, relationship-oriented individual to build relationships with academic institutions and help introduce DER's streaming platform and expand institutional sales of DER films to librarians, faculty, and educational decision-makers. The Sales & Outreach Associate will report directly to the Executive Director. Responsibilities Conduct outreach to colleges, universities, andmunity colleges Identify key personnel and build relationships with:
  • Media and acquisitions librarians
  • Anthropology and social science faculty
  • Academic technology and digital resource staff Schedule and conduct virtual demonstrations of DER's streaming platform Assist with renewal outreach and institutional relationship management Collaborate on outreach messaging, presentations, and conference opportunities identify new market opportunities and institutional partnerships define weekly outreach goals and provide bi-weekly reports Weekly meetings with DER Executive Director and attend weekly staff meetings This is a flexible position with significant opportunity to help shape a growing initiative with global educational impact.
If sales are successful and show growth this could be a full time position. DER's office is in Watertown, MA, and while the position can be remote or hybrid, we require MA residency.
Qualifications:
Experience in educational, academic, library, nonprofit, or media-related sales/outreach Excellent written and verbalmunication skills Experience with Excel and Google Docs Comfortable with phone and email outreach, virtual meetings, and relationship-building Familiarity with higher education environments and institutional purchasing processes Ability to work independently and manage multiple outreach activities Interest in documentary film, cultural studies, education, or social impact media ful but not required: CRM experience Experience working with libraries or educational streaming platforms Background in anthropology, sociology, film studies, or related disciplines Previous experience in content-related sales
