Community Support Staff

Job Overview Hey! I've got a guy. He's 28, and on a mission to be the world's greatest sports spectator. He also loves video games, birds and other animals, and other things here and there. He's become a bit of a homebody and I'd love to find someone who can talk sports and maybe get him out and about more. Swimming is a definite option. He's happy go lucky and has a great sense of humor. We are in Colchester, 10 minutes from downtown Burlington. Hours flexible, pay generous. Want to know more? We'd love to talk. Duties Build trusting relationships with young man with intellectual differences by offering friendly companionship and active listening Assist individual with daily routines, including errands, appointments, and social activities Potential to organize and facilitate engaging group events or activities that promote social interaction and community bonding Provide emotional support and encouragement to help boost confidence and independence Promote a positive environment that encourages participation, inclusivity, and mutual respect Requirements Excellent communication skills with a warm, approachable demeanor Ability to connect genuinely with diverse individuals from various backgrounds Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and coordinate activities effectively Empathy, patience, and active listening skills essential for building trust and rapport Prior experience in community outreach, social work, or caregiving is preferred but not required Ability to work independently while also being a team player committed to community well-being Flexibility to adapt to different needs and situations in a dynamic environment We are easy to work with, fun folks.
