Job Description

Position Title:
Outreach Coordinator /
Community-Based Advocate Employment Type:

Reports To:
Executive Director Position Summary The Outreach Coordinator serves as a community-based advocate , providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy and support services to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and related forms of victimization. This position delivers services in community settings, including courts, hospitals, partner agencies, and other safe locations, ensuring survivors have accessible, flexible, and responsive support. The role promotes safety, empowerment, and access to resources while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local funding requirements. The Outreach Coordinator also supports community outreach, prevention education, coordinated response efforts, and may oversee Kids First Visitation Services, if applicable. Essential Functions Direct Services & Community-Based Advocacy Provide trauma-informed advocacy in community-based settings Conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support Assist survivors in understanding rights, options, and systems navigation Provide court advocacy and accompaniment as available Participate in 24-hour on-call response Coordinate referrals and follow-up services Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation Complete required data collection aligned with federal, state, and local funding requirements Ensure compliance with VAWA confidentiality requirements Maintain organized case files and service records Outreach & Prevention Provide community awareness of services, education, and prevention presentations Conduct outreach to key community partners Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration Represent the agency professionally in public settings Kids First Visitation Services (if applicable) Supervise safe visitation and exchanges Ensure child safety and emotional well-being Maintain documentation and program compliance Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred Experience in victim services preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Knowledge of legal systems preferred Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation required Ability to pass background check and drug screening Ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Environment & Expectations Community-based work with travel required Participation in on-call, required Exposure to crisis situations and sensitive information Commitment to trauma-informed care Continued Training Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to travel locally as needed Disclaimer This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities. From $16.13 per hour
