Job Description

Reporting to the Family Services Director, the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for coordination, engagement, and recruitment of Morgantown House volunteers and provide support for event volunteers, which contribute to the established goals and operations of the Charity's programs.
  • Plan and coordinate volunteer needs and opportunities with Family Services Director for House and Special Events

  • Oversee the Red Shoe Crew at West Virginia University
  • Develop and further expand upon existing volunteer programs and activities
  • Recruit, interview, screen, train, supervise and evaluate volunteers per established policies.
  • Schedule, assign tasks and oversee volunteer's activities providing instruction and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures while promoting a supportive and team-oriented environment.
  • Ensure all volunteers are acknowledged for their service with the support from House Manager
  • Coordinate volunteer appreciation events leading logistical planning, invitation mailing, and recognition gifts.
  • Field inquiries from individuals/groups interested in assisting RMHC and respond appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and promote all In-kinds donations to RMHC with support from the House Manager.
  • Conceptualize potential partnerships or methods for engagement with the local community with support from House Manager
  • Maintain calendar of events internally for families and externally for volunteers.
  • Maintain ongoing communications with volunteers (i.e. e-newsletter)
  • Maintain volunteer database with all pertinent information for reporting and recognition purposes.
  • Assist Community Outreach efforts by providing information for newsletters and marketing to enhance Volunteer programs and engagement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of three years of hospitality/volunteer service experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, research and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including contact management database experience
  • Interest, enthusiasm and affinity for non-profit organizations and working with people
  • Background clearance: this position requires lifting up to 20 lbs. with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 10 lbs. The position also requires walking, standing and sitting.
  • SALARY/PAY SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
